Assignment 3 - Final Project, create effects which tell the story of "A fuse is lit, and something happens..."
Final Project Idea Pitch - Due Monday Nov. 10th, 11:59pm

Final - Due Sunday, Nov. 30th, 11:59 pm)
- Decide on the story you want to tell through effects animation.
- What is the story you want to tell, what concepts might you need to learn in order to accomplish what is in you imagination.
- Think about scope of what you feel you can accomplish in a 4 week project.
- Take photos or video of things which might be helpful as inspiration for the effects you will use in your project.
- Before starting anything in Houdini, you will spend the first week storyboarding out your idea.
- Take a large piece of paper, then on post-its, draw and storyboard out your ideas that will tell the story in your head.
- Week 4 we will spend the session to review everyones pitches and talk about keeping it within scope in order to have time to finish. This may require simplification.
- Along the way you can request demos during future sessions that might help you create the different effects you may want to try and use.
- Submit your final project as one long flipbook or you can cut together multiple flipbooks to tell your story. You will submit your final flipbook as the culmination of your project.

- A verbal description of the story you want to convey with effects animation.
- A photo of the large sheet of paper with your post-its that represent the storyboards of the story you want to tell.
- Photos and video of your inspirational reference or potentially images and clips from the internet.
- A verbal description of the story you want to convey with effects animation.
- Submit to box under your andrewId for Asst 3. Include:
- WIP Submission (Due Every Sunday Between Nov. 16th through Nov. 23rd, 11:59pm)
- Create a post on Piazza. Include:
- Flipbooks showing the progress you've made each week.
- Describe how things are going, ask for any helpful demo's that you might need to finish your project.
- Share your Houdini file if you want any help or assistance along the way.
- Create a post on Piazza. Include:
- Final Submission (Due Sunday, Nov. 30th, 11:59 pm)
- Your final project should be either one long playblast or several playblasts cut together using effects animation to tell your story.
- Create a folder inside assignment_03 on the Box. Name it as your <andrewID> .
- Submit your Houdini project file (.hip) using the apt naming convention:
- <andrewID>_asst<assignment #>_v<version #>.<file format> (for individuals)
- Submit your flipbook using the apt naming convention:
- <andrewID>_asst<assignment #>_sshot<screenshot #>.<file format> (for individuals)
Participation (Due every Monday through. Dec. 1st, 11:59 pm)
- Respond to your peers' WIP Piazza posts. Respond to at least 3 of those posts with constructive feedback.
